Congratulations to all 139 contributors… The Haikuist is now available in paperback!
To quote the back cover:
“Love stories don’t always need chapters. Sometimes, all they need is seventeen syllables.
In this inaugural anthology from The Haikuist, 139 poets from around the world weave complete love stories through evocative sequences of traditional 5-7-5 haiku. Rooted in a little nature and a lot of love, these miniature narratives reveal love’s most touching moments.
From the excitement of a first meeting to heartbreaking final goodbyes and every intimate moment in between, each page of this poignant collection offers a reminder that love doesn’t always need more words, it only needs the right ones.
In case anyone wishes to link their Amazon Author page to this anthology and needs “proof “- along with the cover above, here is the table of contents…

Currently, there is no ebook. I have used all methods and different software for formatting ebooks, and am not satisfied with any of them. The books never look “clean” and any special fonts used to add personality, character or uniqueness to the book don’t carry over into epubs. I don’t like that with KissMet Quarterly… I definitely did not want this beautiful collection appearing chaotic or messy and opted to forego the ebook option on Amazon. Once links are available to U.S. writers for bulk discount copies on our Fourthwall store, there will also be a link for PDF download available to all writers/readers. So if anyone is interested in a digital download of The Haikuist or cannot access a physical copy from their Amazon marketplace, stay tuned and I will share that link in the coming days!
A huge thanks to all the contributors. I will be receiving my copy very soon and it will be sent to the U.S. Library of Congress to finish the ISSN process, where it will be housed in their archives.
I will update once copies are sent in to the Touchstone Award committee. And I have other plans as well… which I’m finding it more difficult to keep them secret, so I will announce them now…
I plan to send copies in to The Museum of Haiku Literature in Tokyo – the world’s only library devoted exclusively to collecting and preserving haiku works for future generations.
I also plan to send copies to the American Haiku Archives, to Haiku Canada (Haiku Canada Collection and Archives), and to the Australian Haiku Society for preservation and to honor the contributors from those regions/countries.
As these events take place, I will keep you all posted, sharing pics/video of the books being mailed and I will share any correspondence I receive from these different esteemed archives.
This is all so exciting to me, and I hope it is for you as well!!
Thank you all… and have a great coming week!

Dear Author,
Congratulations! And welcome to The Haikuist family!
Here are some reminders and updates:
- Keeping with common haiku “rules,” titles will not be included. G. Lynn Brown, editor, reserves the right to remove titles to maintain consistency throughout the Anthology.
- The tentative publication datefor the Anthology is July 20, and you will be informed once it is released and available for purchase. Discounted author copies, sold in lots of 10 or 20, will also be available to U.S. contributors ONLY. Purchase links will be sent as soon as they’re available.
Announcements:
- Iwill be applying to the U.S. Library of Congress for an ISSN (International Standard Serial Number, which helps catalogers, libraries, and databases quickly and accurately track and cite serial literature) for The Haikuist, which means sending a hard copy to the Library of Congress, and The LoC then adds the publication’s metadata to the international ISSN portal AND retains the sample in their permanent collections. So, the Inaugural Issue (Summer ‘26) of The Haikuist will be housed in the U.S. Library of Congress.
- I will be submitting the Inaugural Issue (Summer ‘26) of The Haikuist to The Haiku Foundation for the Touchstone Distinguished Book Award. I feel this anthology with its theme, concept, and high caliber of contributors, deserves to at least be nominated for such an honor.
- I have some other plans I’m working on that will be a huge honor for The Haikuist and its contributors, but I will make those announcements as things are finalized and certain.
Cover Reveal:
For those who haven’t yet seen the cover design, or who may have seen it in X posts but not realized it is the cover:
Five Love Haiku
I met and Married The Lady of My Dreams
I met and married
The lady who haunted my dreams
During eight long years
When I Met My Love
When I met my love
It was just my karmic fate
We were met to be
My Love Came in a Dream
my love came in a dream
She must have been an angel
Sent to save my soul
The Day We First Met
The day we first met
Your love mojo magic
mesmerized my soul
When I First Saw You
When I first saw you
sparks flowing between our hearts
it was fate at work
Author note:
Based on my true love story. We first met in a dream in 1974, and then she walked out of my dreams onto a bus in 1982 in South Korea. I proposed after three days, married two months later, and we are still together 44 years later. This true love fairy tale romance has been published in various publications, including Chicken Soup for the Soul, “Dreams and Premonitions,” which has been republished and is available on Amazon now.
